Why are my toenails stained

White spots on the nailsIndications Single or multiple small white spots often appear on the fingernails or toenails. It is a cornification disorder, which usually comes from a mechanical dream. However, a mineral deficiency, e.g. a calcium deficiency, is not a cause. No treatment is necessary as the spots grow back on their own and have no disease value. In the case of larger stains, other discolouration, thickening or yellowing (nail fungus) or a completely white nail, however, a medical examination is indicated.

Synonymous: leukonychia, whitening of the nails, leukonychia vulgaris
