WISC-V intelligence test for children: structure and procedure

WISC V intelligence tests for children and adolescents can be very helpful and appropriate in certain situations to determine the child's level of development. Tasks and content focus

At the sub-test "Mold scales" a balance is to be brought into equilibrium by recognizing which weights have to be placed on the weighing pan. It is not known how much the figures weigh. In terms of content, the focus is on inductive thinking and quantitative reasoning.

The sub-test "Computational Thinking" consists of solving arithmetic problems in your head without using additional aids. It is about short and long-term memory, arithmetic and concentration.

The primary index "Working memory" aims at attention, working memory and concentration.

With sub-test "Repeating numbers" it is a matter of reproducing an orally spoken sequence of numbers immediately either in the same, in reverse or in ascending order. It is about the auditory short-term memory and the working memory.

The sub-test "Letters-Numbers-Sequences" consists of reproducing a sequence of numbers and letters, albeit in a new order. The letters should be arranged alphabetically and the numbers in ascending order. This is also about working and auditory short-term memory.

The secondary index "Quantitative reasoning" aims at understanding set-related relationships and performing mathematical operations.

The secondary index “Auditory working memory” lThe main focus is on working and short-term memory.

The secondary index "Nonverbal Index" deals with cognitive performance, whereby the requirements for expressive language are minimized.

The secondary index "General Skill Index" In terms of content, the focus is on cognitive performance, whereby the focus is on crystalline and fluid intelligence, as well as on visual processing.
