If a new generation, then please with a 100% downward compatibility to PS4 / PS4Pro / PSVR. Otherwise I don't see any reason for a big cut. That creates a market that Sony no longer owns either, as it did in 2013.

But I hope that the PS4Pro will exist until at least 2020 or 2021 before a PS5 comes. Otherwise the fragmentation would be far too high in the market with 3 PS consoles, 2 XBOX consoles, sometimes the PS3, 360 and the PC. In addition possibly the switch.
That's too many consoles with too different capacities.

That's why I laugh at the new "X" ... An unnecessarily crammed box that is overpriced and you don't actually need it!
I wish for the PS5 that the games are really photo-realistic, a UHD player and a realistic price of 399 euros!
So "Dear Christ Child ... ..." !!
The X should be overpriced? Oh, you tell yourself that so that your own toy is not devalued so much.

Yes exactly. Didn't Sony deny the Pro at the time? Just like MS have promised that there is definitely no stronger version of the One after the PS4 Pro was confirmed.

I hope if a PS5 should come that it will continue to be fully backwards compatible. This is still the main disadvantage of the consoles. But I think anyway that one will try to avoid Next Gen in the future. From the point of view of all hardware and software manufacturers, this only brings disadvantages and ultimately also for the customer. It is in the interest of Sony and Co to let a gene last as long as possible.

But next generation I would like to have new experiences and a nice look. But then also a console that can make that possible. And a ps5 with 10tf will surely be able to do better than the pro. But also not (significantly) better than today's PCs. If you bring a new gene, then please with the obligatory 8-12x more power compared to the previous console (in this case of course the ps4 and not the pro). So that there are new possibilities and there is a visible leap.
Well, until a graphics card performs 18 TFLOPS (10x PS4) it will definitely be a few years. AMD Navi will be able to do that in 2019/2020 at the earliest. The technology for consoles will not be available until 2023/2024.
A little long to my liking. Then rather 10 TFLOPS in 2019 or 12 TFLOPS in 2020.
Don't have to be 18. 2020 could be 15 if you subsidize it a little like the ps4. Or in 2019 if it costs 500 and is subsidized. One must not forget that the pro and x are sold at a profit and the latter not only offers more performance but also in a small case with a good cooler and such. The number of pieces will then also be higher, which will depress the price. 3 years after the Pro, 2.5-3x more performance should be in there for the same price, with a new gene and without profit. After all, the pro already has 2.5x more power. Another year later then easily 3.5-4x more.
