In the footsteps of the legendary Bengal tiger, we roam the Ranthambore National Park. We visit almost untouched villages on foot in the gently rolling hills of Aravalli. We roam the legendary Thar Desert on the back of camels. After all, Jaisalmer shines like a fairytale before our eyes - proud and unreal like a mirage. Day 1: Arrival in India 23.10.21

On arrival at night transfer to the hotel. We get to know well-known and less well-known highlights of the pulsating, cosmopolitan metropolis on a city tour. Overnight hotel accommodation in Delhi. (F)

Early in the morning transfer to the train station and train ride (approx. 6-7 hours) to Ajmer. From there half-hour transfer to Pushkar with the famous Brahma temple and the long lake surrounded by bathing stairs. In the afternoon we visit some temples, ghats and markets. Overnight hotel accommodation in Pushkar. (F)

Day 4 - 6: Camel safari

From Pushkar we drive to Nokha, the starting point of our camel safari in the Thar desert. We roam the area of ​​the Bishnoi tribes, who belong to natural religions, on camel's back. Their villages are rarely visited. We hike or ride on days between 3 and 6 hours. Riding experience is not required. In the morning of the 6th day we cover the last stage of our camel safari to Jamba. GZ approx. 3 hours. Then we make our way to Jaisalmer and use the free time to get a first impression. 1 overnight stay in a tent at Chimana and Bharadiya. On the 6th day, overnight hotel in Jaisalmer. 190 km (day 4) and 180 km (day 6). (3 x F, 2 x M, 2 x A). If you do not want to take part in the camel safari, you can choose the alternative program 3310A (see notes below).

Day 7: Jaisalmer 29.10.21

The desert city of Jaisalmer looks like a fairy tale from 1001 Nights: In the morning we visit the most important sights of the city, including the fort built in 1156. In the afternoon we have free time. Overnight hotel accommodation in Jaisalmer. (F)

Today we drive to Jodphur, known for the grandiose Meherangarh Fort and beautiful palaces with illustrious names such as the Palace of Lamps or the Pearl Palace. The many colorful markets also shape the image of Jodhpur. Overnight hotel accommodation in Jodhpur. 265 km. (F)

Day 9-10: Aravalli hills 31.10.21 - 01.11.21

We drive to Mt. Abu in the hills of Aravalli and visit the grandiose Jain temple, which dates from the 11th century. The following day we drive to a nearby game reserve and undertake a beautiful hike, which not only offers great views of the Aravalli hills, but also allows us to get to know the great diversity of the local flora and fauna. GZ approx. 5 hours, ± 600 m. 2 night hotel accommodation at Mt. Abu. 270 km on day 9 (2 x B)

Day 11-12: Kumbhalgarh and Ranakpur

We drive to Kumbhalgarh and visit the fort of the same name, from which we enjoy a wonderful view of the surrounding hilly landscape, which has witnessed countless historical battles over the centuries. Then we walk along some small villages of different tribes. 3 hours, ± 100 m. The next day we go on a hike through the Kumbhalgarh game reserve to Bagha Ka Bagh, where we have a picnic around noon. GZ 4-5 hours, +100, -550 m, then drive to Ranakpur, hotel check-in and visit to the Jain temple. 1 night hotel in Kumbhalgarh and 1 night hotel in Ranakpur. 175 km on day 11 and 20 km on day 12. Day 13-14: Udaipur

We drive to Udaipur, also known as the “Venice of the East”, and visit the City Palace and Jagdish Temple, before plunging into the bustle of the bazaars and markets of Udaipur in the evening. On day 14 we take a leisurely bike tour (travel time 4-5 hours) into the rural surroundings of Udaipur, where we can gain an insight into the life of the farmers. In the afternoon we have time to discover Udaipur on our own. 2 nights hotel accommodation in Udaipur. 90 km and 30 km. (2 x F)

15th - 16th day: Jaipur06.11.21 - 07.11.21

Early in the morning we drive to the train station and continue by train to Jaipur (approx. 7 hours). During a visit to the market by rickshaw bike in the late afternoon, we let ourselves be enchanted by the "Pink City" on the edge of the great Indian desert. We then visit the pink old town buildings, the famous Palace of the Winds, the Maharaja's palace, the observatory and the fortifications of the Amber Fort, which is located a little outside of the city, on day 16. 2 hotel nights in Jaipur. Day 17: Ranthambore National Park 08.11.21

We drive to Sawai Madhopur, the starting point for the famous Ranthambore National Park and hike to the Ranthambore Fort, which was built on a hill in the heart of the park in the 10th century. 3 hours, +100, -300 m. The chances of seeing animals during the hike are good and the view from the fort over the park is fantastic. Overnight hotel accommodation in Sawai Madhopur. 170 km. (F)

Day 18: Bharatpur09.11.21

In the morning we go on a three-hour safari through the Ranthambore National Park in an open vehicle in search of tigers and co. Then we continue to Bharatpur, a paradise for ornithologists from all over the world. Overnight hotel accommodation in Bharatpur. 225 km. (F)

Day 19: Agra / Taj Mahal 10.11.21

In the morning we will discover the nature reserve with its over 400 species of birds by bike (approx. 2 hours). Then we drive to Agra, where the highlight of every trip to India is definitely waiting for us. Once in Agra, we finally visit the Red Fort and the world-famous Taj Mahal, which the Mughal Shah Jahan had built as a tomb for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Overnight hotel accommodation in Agra. 55 km. (F)

In the morning we can optionally visit the Taj Mahal again at sunrise. Then we drive to Delhi and on the way visit the Sikandara Fort with the mausoleum of the ruler Akbar. When we arrive in Delhi, we can briefly enjoy the flair of the metropolis for the last time. 2 common day rooms for the group to freshen up before the return journey. 210 km. (F)

Day 21: journey home

Shortly after midnight airport transfer and return flight. Arrival in Germany on the same day.

We drive to Nokha and leave the group for the onward journey to Bikaner. The rest of the day can be used as freetime. 2 nights hotel accommodation in Bikaner. (F)

Without the group we drive to Raisar to the starting point of our camel ride through small villages. Then return to Bikaner. GZ approx. 4-5 hours. (F)
Day 6: Meet the rest of the group
After breakfast we drive to Jamba and meet the group again. Continue to Jaisalmer. (F)
