Who are the true Hebrews?

The Bible in the standard translation

The Epistle to the Hebrews, chapter 8

Christ, the mediator of the new covenant

Heb 8.1But the main point of what we want to say is: We have a high priest who is seated at the right hand of the throne of Majesty in heaven,Heb 8.2as a servant of the sanctuary and the true tent that the Lord himself has pitched, not a man.Heb 8.3For every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and offerings; therefore our high priest must also have something to offer.Heb 8.4If he were now on earth, he would not even be a priest, since there are already priests here who offer the gifts according to the law.Heb 8.5They serve an image and shadow of heavenly things, according to the instruction that Moses received when he set out to erect the tent: See, it is said that you do everything according to the archetype that was shown to you on the mountain.Heb 8,6Now, however, he has been given an all the more lofty priestly service because he is also the mediator of a better covenant based on better promises.Heb 8,7If that first covenant were blameless, one would not seek to put a second in its place.Heb 8,8For he rebukes them when he says, See, the days will come - says the Lord - when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah,Heb 8.9not like the covenant I made with their fathers when I took them by the hand to bring them out of Egypt. They did not stick to my covenant and that is why I no longer cared about them - says the Lord.Heb 8:10This will be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after these days - says the Lord: I will put my laws within them and write them in their hearts. I will be their God and they will be my people.Heb 8:11Nobody will teach his fellow citizen and nobody his brother and say: Know the Lord! Because they all, young and old, will recognize me.Heb 8:12Because I forgive them their guilt and I don't think about their sins anymore.Heb 8:13Speaking of a new covenant, he has made the first one obsolete. But what is out of date and outdated is close to extinction.
