What is quality assurance and quality control
Quality management, all organizational and technical measures that serve to create and maintain the concept and execution quality (quality).
1. In the Quality planning the quality features as well as their required and permissible characteristics for a product and process are specified. This is done with a view to the requirements given by the application or a standard and their feasibility.
2. Quality control, which also as Quality control or Quality control includes the specification of the product and execution requirements as well as the monitoring of the fulfillment of these requirements during the provision of services with any necessary corrections. Using the results of the quality control, on the one hand, measures can be initiated that help eliminate quality-reducing disturbances in the production process. On the other hand, measures can also be planned and initiated that aim to change the design quality or the production processes used.
3. The Quality control or Quality inspection contains a target / actual comparison, which determines the extent to which products meet the quality requirements placed on them. Quality control in the broader sense includes both the review of the design quality and the quality of execution. The review of the execution quality as quality control in the sense of the scope of the control measures to be carried out in Total control and Partial control can be distinguished. The partial control (statistical quality control) tries to use statistical methods to either make statements about the state of the production process (production control) or to obtain information about the reject rate of a manufactured lot (acceptance test). Sampling test plans are used for the acceptance test, while control card technology is used for production control. A connection between production control and acceptance test is the continuous sample test.
To increase the quality of products and services, ISO 1987 issued a series of standards (standard) with the numbers 9000 - 9004, which is recognized as a national standard by more than 100 countries (including the Federal Republic of Germany). The aim of the set of standards is to provide models for quality management systems that are intended to serve quality assurance in design / development, procurement, production, assembly, maintenance and final testing of the product. Companies that develop quality management systems according to these standards can receive a certificate from an authorized body (e.g. TÜV) with the documentation that their quality assurance corresponds to the requirements laid down in the series of standards. This certification can create a basis of trust between suppliers and customers.
