When will Apple repair Maps

If Maps doesn't work on your Apple device

Learn what to do if you're using Maps on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac and can't find your location or you notice incorrect results.

Current location is not found on the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  1. Go to Settings> Privacy> Location Services, make sure Location Services is turned on and Maps is set to When using the app / widgets.
  2. Make sure the date, time, and time zone are set correctly on your device. Go to Settings> General> Date & Time. If possible, use "Set automatically".
  3. Make sure cellular data or WiFi is turned on and you have an active connection.
  4. Restart the map app. Swipe up on the app and pause for a moment. Then swipe up on the app's preview to close it. Then open the Maps app again.
  5. Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch.
  6. Try a different location or switch to a different WiFi network.

The location services use GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi hotspots (crowdsourcing) and cell towers to determine your location. Learn more about location services on your iOS device.

Current location is not found on the Mac

  1. From the Apple menu () choose System Preferences, click Security, then click Privacy.
  2. Make sure "Enable Location Services" is selected. When the lock in the lower left corner is closed, click it and enter your username and password.
  3. Check the box next to "Cards".
  4. Close the Security window.
  5. Make sure your Mac is connected to the internet.

Report problems in the Maps app or add a missing location

You can report a problem using the following features in the Maps app:

  • Card labels
  • Search
  • navigation
  • Public transportation
  • picture quality

You can also add a missing location and edit your home or business address.

On the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

To report a problem or edit your home or work address, do the following:

  1. Tap the Info button in the top right corner.
  2. Tap on "Report a Problem".
  3. Select the appropriate problem description and follow the on-screen instructions.

To add a missing location, do the following:

  1. Tap the Info button in the top right corner.
  2. Tap "Add Missing Location".
  3. Follow the instructions on the screen.

You can choose to let Apple contact you with questions about a reported issue on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. To do this, go to "Settings"> "Maps", scroll to the bottom of the screen, and activate "Inquiries by email". Cards uses your Apple ID account email address.

On the Mac

To report a problem on your Mac, do the following:

  1. In the menu bar under Cards, choose Cards> Report Problem.
  2. Select the appropriate problem description and follow the on-screen instructions.
