If you create a website with WordPress, you often need a certain number of similar-looking (sub) pages, on which only individual content is exchanged. The Duplicating pages or posts can make building a WordPress website a lot easierbecause you often only have to redesign a few pages from scratch. For similar pages, you simply copy a finished page and adapt it accordingly.

You can find out how to completely copy an entire WordPress website in the “Creating a WordPress Backup” guide.
In the following, we will show you which plug-ins you can use to quickly and conveniently duplicate WordPress pages. You will also learn how you can quickly copy individual WordPress pages and posts using the Gutenberg editor and the code editor.
Duplicate a WordPress site with the Yoast Duplicate Post plug-in
Yoast Duplicate Post is with more than three million downloads one of the most popular plugins for copying WordPress posts. The plug-in is equally suitable for dynamic posts and conventional pages - and it is very easy to use.
WordPress differentiates between different post types. The most important are the dynamic "posts" and static "pages". While the content on “Pages” basically remains the same, new content can simply be added to “Contributions”. The position of the content shifts dynamically as a result. Another WordPress post type is the "media".
Step 1: After you have installed and activated the Yoast Duplicate Post plug-in, click on "Settings" in your WordPress backend and then on the "Duplicate Post" buttonthat was added when the plug-in was installed. In the field that opens, you can now make various settings - above all, which elements of a page or a post should be copied. If you are not sure which settings you want to make, it is advisable to leave the default settings as they are for the time being and a page or a post to duplicate as a test. If you make changes to the settings for Yoast Duplicate Post, you have to click on “Save changes” at the end so that these are applied. You can of course change the settings at any time.
Step 2: Now it comes to the essential step of duplicating WordPress pages or posts with Yoast Duplicate Post. In the WordPress backend, in the left sidebar, you can choose to go to "Pages" or "Posts" and then to "All pages" or "All posts". You will now find all your WordPress pages or your WordPress posts listed one below the other. Hover the mouse pointer over the page (or post) to be duplicated, and various options would appear, including one "Duplicate". Click on it.
Step 3: After you have clicked on "Duplicate", the duplicated page (or the duplicated post) appears as Draft under the original page. In these instructions we have duplicated the "Example" page. You can edit the draft as you like and then publish it. To avoid confusion right from the start, the first thing you should do is use the Change page names. You can do this very easily in the Gutenberg editor, for example.
Duplicate a WordPress site with the Duplicate Page plug-in
Another popular plug-in for copying WordPress pages and posts is Duplicate Page, which is now Installed over a million times has been. Basically, duplicating WordPress pages and WordPress posts works with this plug-in in the same way as with Yoast Duplicate Post. You can duplicate WordPress pages or posts with Duplicate Page in the same way as with Yoast Duplicate Post: by calling up “All Pages” or “All Posts”, moving the mouse pointer over the relevant page or post and then click on "Duplicate".
