Accomodation - Morocco Morocco trip: Live like a sheikh You live in exclusive hotels and private palaces in the cities and spend a night in a desert tent camp on the tour to the south. Marrakech: Hotel Kenzi Farah ***** The hotel has a central location in the middle of the city, in the quiet hotel district at the gates of the old town. The 380 rooms are spread over four buildings with a maximum of four floors. The spacious rooms (36 sqm) have recently been renovated and have a bathroom with bathrobe, hairdryer, separate toilet, LCD TV, WIFI, telephone, individually adjustable air conditioning and minibar. A spacious outdoor pool and an indoor pool, SPA, fitness room, pool bar, two restaurants and a specialty restaurant. Hotel and Riad Naoura Barriere ***** (alternative in Marrakech): The small, excellent hotel with only 85 rooms is located in the middle of a beautiful garden, in the heart of Marrakech and not far from the medina and is modeled on an original riad and offers a stylish ambience. The spacious rooms (46 sqm) are extremely comfortably furnished with a bathroom, separate toilet, TV, safe, minibar, WIFI. A large outdoor pool invites you to linger, SPA and fitness. The surcharge (private trip) per person for 4 nights is EUR 590, Fez: Riad Fès: In Fez you live in a traditional palace that belongs to the mysterious world of the Arab civilization, a very atmospheric riad. This is an elegant, palatial Arab building with a courtyard. Riads are tucked away in the middle of the medina. You cannot drive in front of their door. You have to walk the last stretch of the way to the inconspicuous entrance in a wall. When one has stepped through the narrow gate, one finds oneself in another world. In front of you is a picturesque courtyard with a tiled floor and tile walls, a fountain splashes and its water drips from a bowl into a marble basin. The courtyard is surrounded by arcades with arches that continue on the first floor. Noble wooden doors close the entrances to the rooms, which are equipped with valuable furniture and meter-high porters. Every room is different, sometimes smaller, sometimes larger - but always lovingly furnished in an oriental style. Married couples in Morocco usually have to be content with a large grand-lit double bed, which does not always have two mattresses. The bathrooms and the furnishings of the rooms leave nothing to be desired. If you wish, we can book a junior suite for you. Ouarzazate: Berbere Palace **** and Tinerhir: Hotel Saghro These hotels on our trip through southern Morocco both belong to the four-star national category.

General information about terranova Reisen Travel documents The guests of terranova Two weeks before departure you will receive the complete travel documents from us, after receipt of your final payment. The travel documents consist of: Most of them can be described as friends of the house: The majority of the travelers on our tours have already traveled with terranova before. A very large proportion of them are regularly on the road with us year after year. There is a growing number of them who have already entrusted themselves to terranova 20 times and more on one trip. The fellow travelers come from all regions of Germany. There are loyal customers in Switzerland, Austria and the USA. Hotel list, information material, evaluation sheet, flight ticket (e-ticket) if you have booked flights, vouchers for your cabin (for cruises) and if you have booked additional services (additional overnight stays, e-bike, etc.), list of participants and information on the meeting point and contact with the tour guide guided trips. Your judgment is important to us At terranova, we pride ourselves on the fact that every single trip is the result of personal experience that we have carefully compiled and designed into a cohesive trip. We make our own, not immodest demands on every trip and design them as we would expect for our own vacation. It is important for us to constantly test this standard of our own standards through the judgment of our guests. We therefore ask for your judgment when you return home. Most of all, we look forward to a personal letter in which you rate the trip. However, since this often takes more time than you have available after your vacation, we have prepared a questionnaire that will be enclosed with your last travel documents. You can answer this quickly by ticking the box. It's even faster on the Internet: II Arrival and departure As our guests arrive from many different regions, we have not included arrival and departure in the price of any of our trips in Europe. Arrival and departure are individual. For each trip, we have prepared arrival and departure recommendations, which you can find on the respective travel website. Arrival by plane: Why should you book your flight with terranova? Because of our purchase volume, we get good prices on the best connections. We can reserve many flights for you without the flight ticket having to be issued immediately. This allows you to plan your trip in a relaxed manner. Everything from a single source: We monitor the timely issuance of flight tickets and inform you of changes to the flight plan. Arrival by flight If you decide to book a flight yourself, please inform yourself precisely about the airline's rebooking and cancellation conditions. terranova does not reimburse the rebooking or cancellation costs for flights booked by yourself if a trip is canceled or postponed. This also applies if a travel date is canceled by terranova, e.g. because the minimum number of participants was not reached or a natural disaster, e.g. a volcanic eruption that makes your journey impossible. Optional CO² compensation: atmosfair is a non-profit climate protection organization with a focus on travel. Air passengers voluntarily pay a climate protection contribution that depends on the emissions, which atmosfair uses to expand renewable energies in countries where they hardly exist, i.e. especially in developing countries. In this way, atmosfair saves CO² that would otherwise have been generated in these countries by fossil fuels. You can find more information on the Internet at: If you would like CO² compensation, please let us know when booking. Follow-up stay We are happy to help you reserve any follow-up stays you may require before or after your trip with terranova. We book terranova contract hotels for you free of charge, all others for a processing fee. Please let us know your requirements! However, we ask you to note that in the event of a cancellation or change to the respective connection reservation, you must bear all fees incurred and the transfer costs to and from your booked extension location must be paid by you on site.

General information about terranova travel Insurance coverage Liability Sick abroad - who pays? Although there is an intergovernmental social security agreement with most of our travel countries, this only means that the insurance coverage that is customary in the country applies. Often part of the costs have to be borne by yourself. Please check your personal insurance coverage. Our joint liability only applies if terranova was responsible for the damage to the item of luggage and only if the luggage is in our care when the damage occurs (e.g.in our bus, during the supervision of our tour guide or in the hand of one of our tour guides) and was sufficiently stable and functional for the trip. This relates in particular to the fact that bags or suitcases must be able to cope with the burden of their own weight and the additional burden of stacking other items of luggage. As a minimum protection, we recommend that you take out travel cancellation insurance. If you come from a trip e.g. If, for example, you have to withdraw before you travel due to unexpected serious illness, accident or loss of job, the insurer will reimburse you for the cancellation fees (with or without a deductible). We also offer this insurance in combination with the trip interruption insurance, which reimburses you for the additional costs of the return trip and reimburses unused travel services if the trip is interrupted for the reasons mentioned. The insurance premium depends on the travel price. We would be happy to advise you accordingly! The federal government has obliged all tour operators to publish the following information on health care. It reads as follows: The traveler should find out about infection and vaccination protection as well as other prophylactic measures in good time; medical advice should be obtained if necessary. Reference is made to general information, in particular from the health authorities, doctors experienced in travel medicine, tropical medicine specialists, travel medicine information services or the Federal Center for Health Education. III We would like to point out that we generally cannot accept any liability for cash. There is no liability for personal luggage, items of clothing and the pannier that the fellow traveler leaves behind in the accompanying bus on arrival at the stage destination. Our request is therefore to take all personal items and valuables into the room. The escort bus is not under the care of terranova during the night, regardless of whether it is locked or where it is parked. If damage occurs, the extent of the damage and its course must be confirmed in writing by the tour guide immediately after the damage has occurred or has been recognized. The confirmation must show: 1. What is terranova's fault? 2. How the luggage was in our care at the time of the damage. The injured party must submit the damage claim to terranova in writing no later than one month after the contractually agreed end of the trip. The confirmation of the tour guide must be enclosed with the claim for damage. The tour guide is not entitled to recognize any claims. If terranova is proven to be at fault, terranova will reimburse the damage in accordance with the provisions of 9 and 10 of the travel conditions. In the event of damage to objects, terranova will reimburse the repair costs. terranova reserves the right to request the damaged item from the injured party and to prepare an assessment of the amount of the damage at its own expense or to place the repair order itself. If the damaged item cannot be repaired, terranova will reimburse the price of a replacement, minus any reduction in the amount of the damaged item due to use. The item replaced by a new purchase in this way becomes the property of terranova. If the fault on the basis of the information under 1. and 2. cannot be attributed to terranova, the injured party is liable for the damage himself and must try to use his luggage insurance if necessary. Crime - How you can protect yourself Never carry anything valuable with you in a visible way! A handbag, camera, necklace or watch are often tempting to muggers and the most common cause of unexpected robbery. Only carry with you what you really need. You should definitely leave everything else in the hotel in the locked suitcase or, even better, in the hotel's locker / safe. This applies to passports, air tickets and all documents that are difficult to find abroad.

Guided bike tours The choice of luggage, clothing, clothing in the evening is extremely important. On every guided terranova bike tour, luggage is transported from one hotel to another in our accompanying bus. On the day of departure, please leave your luggage in front of your room door or at the reception before breakfast. Your two tour guides will pick it up there and load it onto the bus. At the destination of each day you will find everything back in your hotel and, whenever possible, in your room. During the bike tour, your luggage is in the care of the tour guide in the accompanying bus. However, when choosing the suitcase and its weight, please bear in mind that you will first have to get to the starting point of the bike tour without our help and that you will also have to start your journey home without the terranova luggage service. We therefore ask you to bring a normal sized suitcase (and possibly a small travel bag) per person with you. Every trip carries a risk to luggage that can only be mitigated with your help. As the organizer, terranova is only liable to a limited extent if your luggage is damaged or lost on the way. Although the accompanying buses offer a relatively large amount of space for the luggage of our guests, the tour guides have to stack the suitcases and bags on top of one another. For this reason, we recommend that you use luggage that is as durable as possible. Please also note the chapter on liability. Rainwear is a must and must be in your luggage. There is no such thing as bad weather, there is just wrong clothing. We recommend rain suits made of breathable fabric or thin plastic with a separate jacket and pants. Don't worry, we won't ask you to ride your bike in heavy, continuous rain. It almost never happens that it rains continuously for a whole day. There are always breaks in the rain when you can ride a bike. With the help of the escort bus, heavy downpours can easily be bridged. If necessary, your tour guides can rearrange the daily routine so that you can reach your destination without being disturbed. With the right rain gear, a bike tour can be a real pleasure even in a rainy season. A good mood, team spirit and a sporty attitude are often more important than sun or rain for a successful bike tour. As a general rule, clothing should be loose and comfortable. The temperature change on a bike tour can be very large within a day. You should therefore take appropriate clothing beforehand. Sweaters and thin jackets drawn on top of each other protect against unexpected cold spells and wind; the so-called onion principle has always proven its worth. Finally, a note on clothing in the evening: this is a matter of personal style and taste. For dinner, sometimes by candlelight and in an atmospheric, festive atmosphere, you should be prepared for appropriate clothing. You will surely enjoy it when you can adapt your appearance to the atmospheric setting in sporty clothes in the evening after riding your bike. An outspoken evening wear is not required. When choosing your suitcase, pay more attention to stability than to elegance. In order to ensure optimal luggage care, we ask you to mark your luggage with the terranova luggage tags with your name on it. IV Shoes The shoes you use for cycling and hiking should be sturdy low shoes with rubber soles. Sturdy trainers / jogging shoes are also practical. When it rains, gaiters that can be easily pulled over your shoes and easily stowed in your bike bag are practical. What else should be in your luggage Gloves and head protection (hat or headscarf) Glasses / glasses cleaning cloths Sunscreen Umbrellas Film and photo cameras (Please note that your bike bag is exposed to vibrations. To protect the sensitive lens systems, we recommend foam bags and a shoulder strap on which you can also carry the camera while you are driving.Personal small items can be stored in a practical pannier while you are traveling.

Guided bike tours Travel budget Tip Security Your travel budget should be sufficient for the following needs: Lunch (or other meals that are not included), drinks with the meal, souvenirs and tips. For lunch you will either be a guest in a tried and tested restaurant or your two tour guides will prepare a picnic for you at selected places. The cost of the picnic and drink breaks will be passed on to those guests who take part in the picnic. Depending on the region visited, they are around EUR 10 to 15 per person and picnic (including drinks). The allocation also includes material costs of EUR 5 per person and trip (material replacement, dishes cleaning, etc.). Lunch in a typical restaurant costs around EUR 15 to 25, depending on the region. At lunch in a restaurant, we recommend agreeing on one or two dishes in the interests of quick service. Otherwise, a lunch break will take so long that the rest of the journey may not be manageable without shortening it. Your tour guide will advise you on the selection of dishes typical of the country. The tip is a voluntary recognition of good performance. Its amount depends on the guest's degree of satisfaction with the service provider's commitment. Each guest should evaluate the services of tour guides, bus drivers, city guides or service employees in restaurants or hotels individually and for themselves. It should depend on this very personal evaluation whether and in what amount a tip is paid. Because terranova cannot accept this personal rating from its guests, we have basically decided against a flat tip payment, which is included in the tour price. Such a flat-rate tip payment would have the character of a compulsory contribution without taking into account good or bad performance. That would devalue the point of paying a tip, as it would be paid without regard to performance. Do you need a helmet? More and more cyclists are realizing that wearing a helmet can increase their own safety. Helmets are compulsory in Spain. The decision to wear a helmet is at your own discretion. Just as you are responsible for compliance with the road traffic regulations, this also applies to wearing a protective helmet. It is best to find out about suitable helmets for cyclists in good sports shops. terranova offers you a rental helmet for EUR 10 if you reserve it with us in good time (2-3 weeks before the start of your journey)! On cruises: For lunch you are either on board or your two tour guides will prepare a picnic for you at selected places, which is included in the tour price. The costs for the drinks for the picnic and drinks breaks are apportioned and amount to approx. EUR 3-5 per person per day. Many cruises include the cost of wine, beer, soft drinks and coffee on board and for picnics / drink breaks (see catalog descriptions). V Tips - tour guides: For your tour guides we would like to suggest - as a guide - a tip of EUR 35 to 45 per participant (this is only approx. EUR 5 per day for a one-week trip). Such a tip assumes the complete satisfaction of our guests. Our recommendation only applies in this case and it is of course subject to the freedom of our guests to pay a higher or lower tip. Tips on cruises: On cruises, it is customary to give the ship's crew a recognition in the form of a tip. This tip should be paid for the service staff who look after you in the restaurant, in the bar and in the cabin. A box is available at reception for tips to the invisible employees on board in the kitchen, nautical science, technology, laundry, etc. From cycling together Keep your distance from the person in front! Driving close behind each other is dangerous. Going downhill carries a risk. The speed is usually underestimated. Unexpected potholes, sand stretches or gravel on the way can lead to a sudden loss of grip. You should avoid driving side by side on country roads. Drive on the far right side of the road and one behind the other. Exception: the tour guide asks you to drive in small groups and takes appropriate precautions. Lost contact with the group? Then you should definitely wait at the point where you last had contact with the group. The tour guide will come back and pick you up. Please do not try to find the bike group on your own; the danger of the procedure is too great and it will then be very difficult for the guide to find you again quickly. terranova can only accept liability in the event of an accident if the wheels have been adjusted by the tour guides.

Guided bike tours Bike selection The bike bag How should the bike be adjusted? When booking our trips, you can choose a bike that suits you perfectly. The following bikes are available: Each guest receives a bike bag for the duration of the bike tour, in which, for example, there is space for rain gear, sweater, camera and provisions for the day. There the things are protected against dirt and rain and can be taken to any guided tours and breaks. An inaccurately or incorrectly adjusted bike forces you to exert considerably more force than necessary. If your bike is not properly adjusted, you will be at a disadvantage compared to other passengers with correctly adjusted bikes. So here are a few tips: 7-speed hub gear with back pedal in men's or unisex versions, 28-inch Ryde wheels, aluminum frames in different heights, Shimano Nexus 7-8 gear shifting. 24-speed derailleur with freewheel in men's or unisex design, 28-inch Ryde wheels, aluminum frames in different heights, Shimano Acera gear shift. Pedelec (Ebike) Premium pedelecs from the brands EBIKE and Kreidler with back pedal or freewheel. The range of the e-bikes as pedal assistance is approx. 80 kilometers and depends, among other things, on the condition of the road surface, the distance traveled and the body weight of the rider. A technical briefing is given by the tour guide on site. Your own bike You can bring your own bike with you on all individual and on many guided bike tours. By default, after your registration, we will confirm that you have a bike with gear hub and a low step through. If you prefer a free-wheeling bike and / or value a men's bike with a central bar, we would like to ask you to indicate this when you reserve your trip or as soon as possible (subject to availability, without surcharge). Please tell us as soon as possible when booking Your height. VI Escort bus On a cycling tour with terranova, the escort bus is much more than just a practical means of transporting luggage. From the beginning to the end of the trip, he will travel with you and be at your disposal. Together with the bicycle transport trailer specially developed for terranova, it is an important aid. You often meet him when the bus route crosses the bike path. The vehicle can often be reached, be it that you need something out of your luggage or want to put something in it, or that you want to take a piece of it yourself. Make use of these opportunities. Above all: Do not be unnecessarily tempted by fellow travelers who may be in a better condition to exceed your performance limits. Take advantage of the possibility to ride the accompanying bus. After all, you want to have a restful and relaxing trip! The bikes are loaded onto the trailer on steep inclines. You and your fellow travelers can then either take the bus uphill or we have found a nice hiking trail on which you can overcome the incline in a pleasant way. The saddle height: The height of the saddle determines how hard you have to exert yourself while cycling. Only the ball of the foot should rest on the pedal. With the pedal below, the leg should be almost fully extended. This relatively high saddle setting will appear strange to you at first because you cannot reach the ground with your foot when you are sitting on the saddle. However, this position is strongly recommended, because it protects your knees and the strength of your thigh muscle comes into its own. The saddle inclination: When the saddle is correctly adjusted, the saddle nose points slightly upwards. This causes you to sit on the soft, sprung surface of the saddle. However, if the saddle nose points down, you are inevitably sitting on the hardest, unsprung part of the saddle. Pressure points and sitting pain when cycling are mainly due to incorrect saddle adjustment. The handlebar height: The correctly adjusted handlebar should be about the same height as the seat of the saddle. In the event of complaints in the shoulder and neck area, it is advisable to adjust the handlebars higher.

Individual bike tours Luggage transport Clothing terranova reliably brings your suitcases and travel bags from one accommodation to the next. Please hand in your luggage at the reception of your hotel by 9:00 a.m. daily. You will receive your luggage at the next hotel by 6:00 p.m. at the latest. Rainwear is a must and must be in your luggage. There is no such thing as bad weather, there is just wrong clothing. We recommend rain suits made of breathable fabric or thin plastic with a separate jacket and pants. It almost never happens that it rains continuously for a whole day. There are always breaks in the rain when you can ride a bike. With the right rain gear, a bike tour can be a real pleasure even in a rainy season. Luggage tags: Please attach luggage tags to the items of luggage you want to transport, which you will receive with your last travel documents. Number of pieces of luggage and maximum weight: Please note the information that you received with your last travel documents. Bike bags for rental bikes terranova provides you with water-repellent saddlebags for your day luggage. All bicycle bags are extremely solid and durable as well as water-repellent. So everything you have with you during the day stays dry even on rainy days. For minor emergencies, terranova bikes are also equipped with a service set including tools, replacement hose and air pump. A combination lock protects against wheel theft. VII Shoes: The shoes with which you ride a bike and also go on a hike should be sturdy low shoes with rubber soles. VIII How does the bike have to be adjusted? An inaccurately or incorrectly adjusted bike forces you to exert considerably more force than necessary. If your bike is not properly adjusted, you will be at a disadvantage compared to other passengers with correctly adjusted bikes. So here are a few tips: The saddle height: The height of the saddle is decisive for how hard you have to exert yourself while cycling.

Culture, Long Distance, Hiking and New Year's Eve Travel Choosing Luggage Clothing Shoes Choosing luggage is extremely important. On every Terranova trip, luggage is transported from one hotel to another in an escort bus. On the day of departure, please leave your luggage in front of your room door or at the reception before breakfast. Your tour guides will pick it up there and load it onto the bus. At the destination of each day you will find everything back in your hotel and, whenever possible, in your room. However, when choosing the suitcase and its weight, please bear in mind that you will first come to the starting point of the trip without our help and that you will also have to start the journey home without the terranova luggage service. We therefore ask you to bring a normal sized suitcase (and possibly a small travel bag) per person with you. Rainwear is a must and must be in your luggage. There is no such thing as bad weather, there is just wrong clothing. We recommend rainwear made of breathable fabric or thin plastic. The shoes with which you go on excursions and sightseeing during the day should be sturdy low shoes with rubber soles and, above all, they should be comfortable! Sturdy trainers / jogging shoes are also practical. When hiking, it depends on your personal surefootedness and the nature of the path, whether ankle-high hiking boots are necessary. If in doubt, our travel experts will be happy to advise you on the phone and try to describe the hikes as precisely as possible. Every trip carries a risk to luggage that can only be mitigated with your help. As the organizer, terranova is only liable to a limited extent if your luggage is damaged or lost on the way. Although the accompanying buses offer a relatively large amount of space for the luggage of our guests, the tour guides have to stack the suitcases and bags on top of one another, especially for larger groups. This sometimes puts a strain on suitcases and bags. For this reason, we recommend that you use luggage that is as durable as possible. Please also note the chapter on liability. When choosing your suitcase, pay more attention to stability than to elegance. In order to ensure optimal luggage care, we ask you to mark your luggage with the terranova luggage tags with your name on it. IX With the right rain gear, a cultural and hiking trip can be an untroubled pleasure even in a rainy season. A good mood, team spirit and a sporty attitude are often more important for a successful trip than sun or rain. Hiking sticks can be of great help on hiking trips and, above all, the use of sticks relieves the knee joints considerably! Telescopic poles can be stored relatively easily in a large suitcase. It is absolutely recommended to always take a hat with you. It protects against sunburn and sunstroke in strong sunlight! As a general rule, clothing should be loose and comfortable. The temperature change on a hiking trip (especially by the sea and in the mountains) can be very large within a day. You should therefore take appropriate clothing beforehand. Sweaters and thin jackets drawn on top of each other protect against unexpected cold spells and wind; the so-called onion principle has always proven its worth. Clothing in the evening Finally, a note on clothing in the evening: This is a matter of personal style and taste. For dinner, sometimes by candlelight and in an atmospheric, festive atmosphere, you should be prepared for appropriate clothing. You will certainly enjoy it when you can adapt your exterior to the atmospheric setting in the evening. An outspoken evening wear is not required. (Exception: On New Year's Eve trips, evening attire may be appropriate for certain events. Please note the information in the respective travel description!) What else should be in your luggage Head protection Glasses / glasses cleaning cloths Sunscreen Umbrella Small day rucksack (for water bottle, camera and rain gear, etc.) ) Film and photo cameras

Culture, long-distance travel, hiking and New Year's Eve Travel Fund Tips Your travel budget should be sufficient for the following needs: lunch (or other meals that are not included), drinks with the meal, souvenirs and tips. If there are service providers on a trip who would be eligible for a tip because of their good performance, your guides will advise you of this and give you a guideline for the tip size. For lunch you are either in a tried and tested restaurant, or you have a long lunch break in a pleasant place with enough choice for a snack or a stop in a restaurant. Your guide will then give you tips and recommendations. For lunch in a restaurant, we recommend agreeing on one or two dishes in the interests of quick service. Otherwise, a lunch break will take so long that the rest of the journey may not be manageable without shortening it. Your tour guide will be happy to advise you on the selection of typical local dishes. On some trips, your tour guide also offers picnics at suitable locations. The cost of picnics will be passed on to those guests who attend the picnic. Cruise: For lunch you are either on board or your guide will prepare a picnic for you at selected places, which is included in the tour price. The costs for the drinks for the picnic and drinks breaks are apportioned and amount to approx. EUR 3-5 per person and day. Many cruises include the cost of wine, beer, soft drinks and coffee on board and for picnics / drink breaks (see catalog descriptions). X Tips - tour guides For your tour guides we would like to suggest - as a guide - a tip of EUR 35 to 45 per participant (that's only approx. EUR 5 per day for a one-week trip!). Such a tip assumes the complete satisfaction of our guests. Our recommendation only applies in this case and it is of course subject to the freedom of our guests to pay a higher or lower tip. Tips on cruises It is also common on cruises to give the ship's crew a recognition in the form of a tip. The same applies to the amount that it should reward good performance. This tip should be paid for the service staff who look after you in the restaurant, in the bar and in the cabin. A box is available at reception for tips to the invisible employees on board in the kitchen, nautical science, technology, laundry, etc.

Many of them are students of cultural studies, foreign languages or geography. Some of them continue to work at terranova after completing their studies. Before a tour guide takes on the leadership of a group, terranova familiarizes him with his task in theory and practice. At the beginning of the tour guide career there is a seminar lasting several days. In it, the candidates are familiarized with the theoretical principles of the task. This is followed by a technical briefing in the workshop on how to handle the bicycles and the accompanying bus. Only when this part of the training has been successfully completed will the first assignment take place on a preparatory trip together with an experienced tour guide. Only then are they given full responsibility for a group.
