Party in the stadium: Liverpool FC for Jürgen Klopp receives championship trophy - "Means the world for me"

The championship trophy finally arrived in Liverpool since Wednesday evening. For Jürgen Klopp it is the third big success with the Reds after winning the Champions League and the World Cup. The team celebrated exuberantly on the Kop fan stand.

Jürgen Klopp has reached the goal of his dreams! Late on Wednesday evening, the German coach and his Liverpool team finally officially celebrated winning the championship in the stadium on Anfield Road. After a 30-year dry spell, Jordan Henderson raised the coveted trophy to the cheers of his teammates on the legendary and specially converted standing stand "The Kop" at 11:44 p.m. German time. "It means the world to me. It would be perfect with the fans in the stadium, but it's still a great moment for me"said master trainer Klopp Sky.

Previously, Liverpool had prevailed in the last home game of the season 5-3 against Chelsea. The game was no longer of great sporting importance for the Reds, because the LFC had been the champions ahead of schedule since the 31st matchday. During the 90 minutes, Liverpool fans outside the stadium shot fireworks into the air.

Klopp dances exuberantly with his players on the lawn

Just as happy as the supporters of the Reds were the Liverpool players themselves about winning the coveted trophy. The title was duly celebrated. The ceremony was accompanied by a large laser show and plenty of pyrotechnics in the Liverpool club colors white and red. During the celebrations, Klopp initially held back and let his players pose with the trophy. But after a few minutes he blossomed and danced exuberantly with his players on the lawn. Later he fervently smacked the Liverpool hymn "You´ll Never Walk Alone" with his protégés when they were in each other's arms.

However, the players had to do without the fans during the celebrations in the stadium due to the corona. But in front of the stadium, regardless of the Corona requirements, hundreds of fans celebrated the triumph of their team, for which they had to wait so long. Jürgen Klopp announced a lavish party for the time after the Corona crisis. "When this bullshit virus is over, we will celebrate," he said, addressing the fans: "Liverpool fans, get ready for a party. I don't know when, but be ready."

Liverpool chasing record champions Manchester United

With the title win in the Premier League, the Reds join a select selection of top English clubs. With a total of 20 championship titles, Manchester United is the current record champion in England - but Liverpool come to a total of 19 with the win this season, so only one is missing for a tie.

Klopp himself has played a large part in the success of the Liverpool team. After taking over in October 2015, he built one of the best teams in Europe. The offensive stars around Sadio Mané, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino as well as Virgil van Dijk and goalkeeper Alisson Becker have made a leap and are among the world's best professionals. After winning the premier class last year and winning the Club World Cup in December 2019, the next Klopp coup has now been achieved.
